Get Involved!

We would not exist without the help of dedicated animal lovers who volunteer at the sanctuary everyday. There are many ways to volunteer and every volunteer's job is equally important to the animals as well as to Tranquility Trail.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, the first step is to complete our Volunteer ApplicationAfter you submit an application, our volunteer coordinator will contact you regarding the next available dates for volunteer orientation.  A volunteer orientation session is required for all new volunteers. We welcome volunteers of all ages.

After completing our orientation, you are welcome to volunteer. We do not have minimum/maximum hour requirements for volunteers but do require you sign-up in advance for shifts.

Volunteers are welcome at the sanctuary during the following hours:

Monday through Friday: 9:00AM-5PM

Saturday: 9AM-2PM

Sunday:  9AM-1PM

You will be able to perform the following tasks at the Sanctuary after attending an orientation:

·         Cleaning the bunny habitats

·         Providing clean water for the bunnies

·         Preparing the play areas for the bunnies

·         Socializing and grooming the bunnies with supervision

·         Cleaning floor mats and equipment

·         Completing clerical tasks

·         Preparing crafts and activities for our outreach program

      Staffing off-site events

·         Restocking the store

If you are interested in assisting with adoption, education, or special events, please let the Sanctuary staff know.  We offer additional training for these events.

Volunteers Under the Age of 16
All children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian while at the Sanctuary.  Children with their parent/guardian are required to attend a volunteer orientation before volunteering. We do not have a minimum age requirement as long as children are gentle and respectful of the bunnies and our policies.

The parent/guardian is responsible for the direct supervision of the child volunteer.  We ask that parents consider the ability, temperament, and attention span of their children when planning visits or work shifts at the Sanctuary.

Volunteers Earning Community Service Credit*
Students can complete their service commitment by volunteering at Tranquility Trail by following these procedures:

·         Complete a volunteer application.

·         Attend a volunteer orientation.

·         Expect to be actively working (cleaning enclosures, washing mats, boxing hay, performing clerical work) during your community service time.

You must follow the above steps in order to qualify for performing community service hours  at the sanctuary.

·   Tranquility Trail does not accept court-ordered community service.

Groups are welcome!

We welcome corporate groups, Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops, church groups, school groups, team building, etc. Groups are not required to attend a separate orientation. We will schedule an orientation during your group volunteer time. Please contact our volunteer coordinator to schedule a group volunteer time. ·

·

· If you have questions about our community service policy, feel free to contact us at volunteer@tranquilitytrail.org or call (480) 406-7301.

Thank you for your interest in helping the bunnies!
